RE: Trophy Drop Zone Rest VS Carolina Whisper Biscuit
drop zone would probably be better but i shoot whisker bisquit and you will probably get a big argument started with asking questions about whisker bisquits on here because alot of the people say they dont like them when they havent tried them but it doesnt matter its all in what you like

Go with what you like and not by what anyone on this forum says.

RE: Trophy Drop Zone Rest VS Carolina Whisper Biscuit
i've used the whisker bisquit for probably since it came out and i think it is great because when your walking threw the woods you dont have to worry about your arrow falling off the rest. i have used the drop zone for target shooting but not for the woods yet i dont think i will just because i dont want to be holding the arrow the whole time. But i have found out using the whisker bisquit that when you target shoot a lot you have to change your fletchings a lot more.

Your going to stir up a ant hill here!!

Either one will work great, it's going to boil down to personal preference. I shoot with a Whisker Biscuit and I'm very happy with it. Shoot them both (if you can) it will help you decide.

RE: Trophy Drop Zone Rest VS Carolina Whisper Biscuit
I used and loved a WB when I used to stalk hunt a lot more. Now that I stand hunt 99% of the time, I switched over to the TrophyRidge Dropzone...and LOVE it!

I was in the very same boat when I got my new bow. Decided on the drop zone rest and a string loop for this one. Love it so far!!

I shoot the trophy ridge dropzone and love. Very accurate!

RE: Trophy Drop Zone Rest VS Carolina Whisper Biscuit
I have shot prong rests, drop away, and the WB. I stand hunt 99.9% of the time with my bow and I can't see a reason not to use the WB out of all the ones I listed. It is silent, accurate, and reliable........what else is there??
I set my bow on it's side across the front rail of my Summit climber and just wait for a chance. If a deer comes my bow is inches from my hand already so I don't have to go through all the movement of turning and geting it from a hook. I just grab it and clip on my release (which is the only time I take my eyes off the deer)........from that point all I have to do is get to full draw without getting busted and it's lights out. I never have to worry about a sound coming from my bow as I draw......no arrow clicks or rattles......and I KNOW the arrow will NEVER fall off the rest no matter what angle the bow is at. Finally, when I trip the release I am confident that arrow is gonna hit right where my pin was when I let it go. |

I don't turn to grab my bow. It's on a hanger directly in front of my left hand...with my release already on the loop. If you have trouble with keeping your arrow on a prong/drop-away rest...then go with the WB.
Unless you have to hang your bow behind you or to your side (as dictated by the tree itself most of the time), it should always be within and easy reach. I like to be able to grab it w/o looking at it. |

I like to be able to grab it w/o looking at it. I hunt from a climber and the only way to hang my bow in front of me is to drag one of those telescoping arm gadgets around with me and they suck to carry IMO. They are heavy and require too much motion to screw them in once I get to where I want to hunt. I want to just settle in as quick as possible and not be swinging my arms around as I screw that thing into the tree above my head. I tried one and it drove me nuts. I guess if you hunt out of a permanent stand and already have it in the tree it would be better. Arrow containment would be only one of the reasons I recommend the WB. |
RE: Trophy Drop Zone Rest VS Carolina Whisper Biscuit
If you must walk thru a thicket...or stalk/still hunt...WB is perfect. I loved mine when I did those things..I can't state that enough.
