Hunting at work.....
 

I came into work this morning and as my headlights swung down through the woods next to the parking lot less than 20 feet from our picnic table was a beautiful 8 point, this boys rack is tall and symetrical, his G1's have to be 16-18 long!! I am trying to find out who we lease this property from to see if maybe I can come up here on a Saturday and take him out. I saw him last year and he had a beautiful 6 point rack that was tall for a 6 point. Maybe I should let him ride out ths season and wait until next year to see what kind off rack he has then, I bet it came close to doubleing in overall size in comparison to last year. What do you think, wait until next year or see if I can get permission for this year?

I think that you should wait until next year, Try and find the land owner for permission. once that is secured then work him all year then "wham" next season. Just my thoughts.

I agree with Chef. Try to find the owner now and ask permission for next season. But word to the wise, a lot of business office parks don't let anyone do anything around them <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>. There's tons of office developments here in the Richmond, VA area and you can bet, they are loaded with geese and ducks (I also get into waterfowl hunting too). Some of the owners of the business parks are seriously opposed to anyone wanting to hunt on their land. I asked one time and got the worst thrashing over the phone that I ever experienced! <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

My dad kind of hunts at work...because he works at home. He said we had a nice eight pointer stroll through our yard yesterday!!!

Wait till next year, see if you can get permission, and scout his area out. Great you already have your deer picked out for next year. You should keep an eye out for any other hunters in the area, while going back and forth to work. Hopefully nobody else is in there.

MATTHEWS and Butch I work in Sprinfield Va. in a business park just inside the beltway, to my knowledge there are NO hunters except some guys I work with and they only gun hunt so they couldn't take him. I did a little checking and found out it is a corporation we lease from so I have a feeling my chances of getting permission to hunt here are slim to none, but I will wait until next year and see.

I'm across from O'Hare Airport in Chicago.

I see 15 to 20 deer almost every day on Airport property.

I wonder what kind of reception I'd get if I offered to &quot;remove&quot; a few. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Taz....I would ask now...the worst they can tell you is &quot;no&quot;, which isn't as bad as always wondering &quot;what if&quot;...good luck to you!

JustinL...you may be surprised....here in WV there was a plane crash recently (small plane, no injuries) that was caused by deer on the runway....send me your address and I'll mail it to you for some evidence to present to the O'hare people.... :-)

I would not wait to ask until next year. Ask now but wait on taking the buck until next season. If you are the only one who will be hunting that area you can let the deer get as old as you want!!!
