? about my wifes Hoyt Saphire?

I bought my wife a Hoyt Saphire a few months ago, shes not ready to hunt yet, but she will in about a year or so. Her bow peaks out at 42 pounds. She shoots a 26 1/2 inch Game Tracker Carbon arrow with a hundred grains. My question is do you think this set up will work on whitetail? And will she get a pass through? I feel that it has enough kinetic energy to do the job. Just want to know what everyone thinks. I am looking to buy her better carbon arrows soon any suggestions?

I shot my first deer with a Parker Challenger set at 26" draw 42 lbs., I had a double lung pass thru at 20 yards that buried the arrow in the dirt. I highly recommend Gold Tip 3555 XT carbon arrows. I do limit my shots to 30 yards or less. My Hoyt HavocTec this year is set at 48lbs. Only because I have gotten used to shooting more poundage. Good luck to you and your wife!

I have gotten complete passthrough shoots on deer shooting 48lbs with a 26 inch draw using 100 grain broadheads. My kenetic energy was also my main focus at that time and I soon found it to be enough .Ditto on the Gold Tip 3555 XT arrows, I have taken 2 deer and one coon using them. You may also want to check with the ladies on womenhunters.com their are a few of them that shoot that very bow their and hunt with it also, They may be able to give you some valueable info or help. :)
