New hunter, new bow.
 

Well I just bought me a bow last night. I’m a new hunter and only went about 4 times this past year. Didn’t even see a deer. I was going to buy a gun but decided to get a bow first instead. I may still gun hunt but I figure why not get a bow since bow season will start this September? Now I’ve got 9 months to practice before I go hunting.

I shot Mathews, PSE, and Hoyt.

I ended up getting a less than a year old Hoyt Ultramag.

I shot the Trykon just for the heck of it and, wow. Talk about smooth, I couldn’t even feel the string pop. I just can't afford that right now though.

Anyway, I look forward to getting good with this thing and hunting next season.

The Ultramag will certainly do the job. Shoot during the offseason
as much as you can. Congratulations and good luck next hunting

Comgrat's on your new bow ,the Ultramag is a good bow espeacially for a beginner and yes it'll definately do the job ,now all you need to do is practice, practice,practice.

thanks folks. i got outside today and man i didnt realize id get tired of just holding to bow up and pulling back the string. after awhile i felt like i go a good workout. the awesome thing about this bow is i can step right out into my back yard and practice. i cant do that with a gun.

Sometimes the best thing to do is crank the poundage down and work your way back up if desired when your muscles get accustomed to the bow.People create very bad habbits when shooting a bow that is overpowered for them.Shoot the bow as often as you can,but when you get tired just put it down and take a break.
