Illinois Bowhunters.........
I was wondering if anyone received their archery deer pins in the mail yet. I just gotone for my doe during shotgun season, but I would of thought they would have sent my 2 bow pins with it.
Just wanted to know if anyone got theirs yet or if they are waiting to send them out at the end of the season. |
RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
I didn't get a deer with a bow last year but I did with my shotgun. I think I sent in the form around the 20th of November but I haven't got my pin yet.
Still waiting. I think I like the old system, you check your deer, they give you a pin. Easy and simple. Plus, I don't know about people honestly reporting deer and what they harvested. Just my opinion |
RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
Yeah I agree Bols. The old system seemed like it was alot better. To me it seems like it would be really easy to cheat the new system.

I dont mean to change the subject of this thread or anything, but i was just wondering what the pins are for. I live in canada and we dont have a system like that. Is it just a little momento or somthing, or is it actually used for anything? I know i sound like a moron but i was just wondering....

RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
I got mine in the mail in mid November (archery pin), if I remember correctly, I think they are sending them out in two "batches". The other mailing should start soon.
|
RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
The pins have the year on them and are different colors every year and the archery and gun ones are also different colors. Guys like to collect these to have memories of their past hunts. Theres some great looking plaques out there where you can put the pins on them as a great way for displaying.
There are others that like the pins so they can sell them (ebay has a bunch) and make money........... |
RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
i just went to DNR and asked for mine. they just handed them right to me without even checking if i killed a deer. although DNR is about 10 min from my house. got my shotgun pin at the same time i got my bow pin.

Brennan:
Yea,just a little momento. The State of Illinois used to give them out when you checked in your deer. Now we check our deer online or over the phone and we have to request a pin. My son shot a deer with a bow,mid Oct and recieved his pin last week,I shot one two weeks later and haven't recieved mine yet.Neither of us got our gun season pins yet. Bill |
RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
sent out for mine and my dads the last week of Oct. and we recived them about 2 weeks latter. i do wish we would go back to the old system, i thought it was better, the only thing about this though is that u geet until 10;00 to call tehm in instead of havin to be at the check station before 8:00,

RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
UPDATE:
My dad talked to a guy from DNR and they said that the remaining pins are being made and should be sent out soon. |
RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
I wish Iowa did something like that. That is a awesome idea.

RE: Illinois Bowhunters.........
