HELP!!!!! I REALLY NEED TO KNOW.

Hi im 12 yrs. old and i just got a new parker buckshot for x-mas and it was set at 33#. so me and my dad quickly changed that to 36#. My draw length is 23-24 and what im wanting to do is change it from 30-40 to 40-50. Now im wondering if i should do this right before hunting season or do it now and practice with it at higher # ?
Please let me know and any tips or input for this bow.

Thanx

I am not sure of the weight and draw range of your particular bow, but 40# may be it's max weight. You may not be able to get 50# out of it. But, to specifically answer your question, assuming it is possible, increase your poundage gradually, starting at the end of the current hunting season, and work your way up to your desired weight. Practice the way you will be hunting.

That bow you have to send into parker and they will up the poundage on the limbs #9.99$ is what it will cost. But I recomend shooting for a while first. Build that shoulder. You have a while before season starts! Practice practice practice. Shoot from the roof of your house shoot from the sitting position shoot from the neeling position just shoot. turn as far to the right and shoot turn as farr to left and shoot try every posible senario! I have been hunting for 20+ years and i go throught this routine every year!

Remember that your bow will be harder to draw when you have heavy clothes on, its cold, and you've been sitting motionless in a tree stand for hours. You should be able to point the bow at the target and draw back without struggling. Good luck next season.

Make it a gradual process ,and then you'll be ready for next season's hunt .
