It could be several different things. Here are a few that might answer your question and solve his problem. One, your friend may be canting (tilting) his bow to the left if he is a right-handed shooter. You can tell this fairly easy if his arrows group to the right of the target or vice versa if he is left handed. Just being aware of this helps but some sights now also have bubble levels on them. Two, your friend may be turning his face and nose too much towards the string. This is a form problem and can easily be fixed using a peep sight or kisser button on the string. If he doesn't have those then I need to know where he anchors on his face to try to help him out Three, if he shoots with fingers instead of a release he is snapping the string out of his fingers instead of letting it roll off of them. I shot with fingers for 12 years before going to a release this year. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Great stuff No Peep. But do me one favor, from time to time I also whack my nose, define snapping eh. I find I usually hit it when I relax and let the string slip" from my fingers, nothing moves. But yet I still hit my nose.

Tell him to try and change his anchor point so he doesn't draw the bow beyond his nose. I anchor so the string touches the tip of my nose.

Bad form....correct it...the string should touch the tip of the nose when at full draw..kisser button in the corner of the lips, string on the tip of the nose, line the peep. My best guess is that his draw length is too long..or that he is overdrawing..correct it..

Cyclone probably hit the nail on the head. I think his draw length is probably to long also... leading to poor forum and a sore nose.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
