please help, will deer eat winter wheat?
 

Hey guys, maybe you can answer this, i have three stands set up and one was on the edge of a soybean field. The farmer has now cut the beans and tilled the soil, he has planted winter wheat there. Now i am facing a field that has nothing but dirt right now.. My other two stands are on a different piece of property and has some good hunting with them, i can hunt them while waiting for the wheat. Question is this: Should i bother moving this stand or keep it and wait for the winter wheat to come in late season and then hunt it? I don't know if the deer , (which there are alot of them) will come to feed on this wheat. any input will be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

Deer absolutely love winter wheat. They flock to it big time in Nov,Dec,Jan. But now they are mostly feeding on white oak acorns at least around here.

Will deer eat winter wheat??? Hmmm grasshoppuh,

1. do cats use litterboxes?
2. will bears poopie in the woods?
3. will a buck in the rut breed?

Answer on winter wheat is the same as the above questions.

If the weather holds out long enough for that wheat to get, say, hand high, you'll be able to set your clock by the deer coming to the field. Even though the deer are feeding on the acorns, they still like variety. When the wheat grows some, it will attract deer before cold weather. It's a sure thing into the winter months after the cold and frosts kills out all the other greenery in the woods. That stand you have there will soon be your most popular one.<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

hey guys, you are telling me things i like to hear, i have always hunted by the river and along the edges of soybeans and corn fields and never the wheat fields so i didn't know firsthand, so i will be patient and hope for rapid growth in the fields. thanx.
