Lucky to be alive!!

well, i am a lucky one...i'm 15 so this is a shocker to you all. I just got done watching 2 does tonight and they went off..i packed up my stuff and was begiinin to lower my bow and i think the ratchet strap broke and i fell 25 ft to a hard ground..within 2 sec i was abck up on my feet..nottin hurt and my dad came runnin over and i looked at my hand and it was all cut up....thats all that hurt..nottin else..i was scared to death and yes i was wearin a safty vest but i had to un-hook it to lower my bow...we then went to the ER and everybody was talkin bout how lucky i am..i couldn't belive it when i arose...my huntin is done for the year but i would rather take that then not be alive....merry christmas to you all!!

I am glad to hear you are ok. For the first time ever I used my climber without a harness hooked up to climb up the tree and I was very uneasy about that but I was in a hurry never again after seeing this. Thanks for sharing

Thank goodness you're alright! That will probably be a life long learning experience. Don't take anything for granted. Periodically inspect all of your hunting equiptment, especially stands and safety straps. Never unhook yourself until you are ready to climb down. Removing your safety harness is the last thing you do before you descende from your tree. Remember, you've got 50 - 60 or more years left of enjoying this sport!
