Had A rough day sat.

Went hunting here in virginia sat. I started out around 6:30 so it was still dark. Well me and my son walked up on a ridge heading to my stand when I looked up ans seen a doe standing in front of me at about 15 yrds. Well to make a long story short it was just to dark to take theshot but I took it anyway missed and lost and arrow. Now I have two arrows left. well I took my son with me he is 9 so he has a hard time sitting still so we spent most of the time walking. Well at about 10:30 I decided to head home.

Now this is where is get strange I was walking out and I look to my left to see a doe sitting in some brush at about 7yrds away so I put an arrow in my bow pulled it back the deer never moved just watched me. Well I relesed the arrow and all I seen was my arrow hit the brush to the left of the deer the deer got up and joged away. So I went and got my arrow no blood no nothing I missed. So I walked down the trail we were on so we could leave I looked down the trail and low and behold that deer was standing in the middle of it looking at me at about 15yrds. Well I nocked and arrow put the pin on it relesed the arrow missed way left so I took my last arrow put it on the bow aimed way to the right relesed the arrow and stilled missed way to the left. so I was out of arrows and had a deer still standing there looking at me so I did the only thing I could I walked and got my arrows scearing the deer off in the process. I later reliised what had happened I left my bow in the back of my truck friday night and I let a buddy of mine use my truck the jaring it took thought my sights off.
Do you guys think there might have been something wrong with the deer for it to stay like it did.

They all got it wrong the doe went by you house the night before and messed with your sights.
On the other hand I feel for you. I am always worried that the ride in or walking through the brush will do something to my sights. I put my bow in a case and try to not hit as many holes as are in the road but all it takes is a set screw to loosen up and my day will be like yours was.

I have a suggestion. Maybe you should take up shooting a recurve or longbow. No sights to get messed up.

<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>OK guys, on a scale from 1 to 10, I would give the 10 to cyclone.:)<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Take the humor in stride syhelms. From reading your post it almost seems as if you were asking for it.<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>:)<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

After you get those sights reset, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, AND PRACTICE!!. Shots at 15 yards and less are the ones that you arent supposed to miss if you are ever going to kill a deer. Do your homework!!

Better luck next time.<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>:)<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

syhelms24 man my heart goes out to you, I hate to say it, but I had to laugh! Man I would have died!! BTW I see you live in Tazwell, I live in Fredericksburg, maybe we could hook up sometime, my email on here is whacked, so if you want to hook up let me know here and I will email you. BTW I have ten year old twins daughters who went hunting with pops last year and in a few years I will be letting them hunt.
