Close hunting season?!!!
 

I've been listening all morning to it. There is much talk of closing hunting season in Md and VA due to the idiot running around killing people in the DC suburbs. The animal rights advocates see this as an opportunity they didn't expect and are calling the talk shows using the killings as a reason [excuse]to close the season! With the most anti-hunting governor in history still in office, will we lose the rest of this year's season???

Oh Lord I hope not. With work and the kids athletic schedules I got in the woods for the first time this weekend and look forward to getting back.

They probably should ban driving also since this crazy is using a vehicle to travel to and from the locations...Didn't the antis try to use the world trade center attacks as a excuse to close New York states gun season last yr....what are they thinking???????

Just heard from someone in MD. They have banned hunting in four counties in MD. Not sure if it was all hunting or specific types of hunting. Anybody else heard this news?

Well skin my arse and call me stupid! I just heard it on the news tonight! It affects me! The 3 day muzzloader hunt starts Thursday and they've shut down the county I hunt in.

I just don't get it! They didn't ban the driving of white vans! I'll either have to look for another spot, bowhunt(which I'll probably end up doing), defy the order and uphold my right to carry..You all can e-mail me in the clink...

I've got an inquiry sent out to the MD DNR to confirm this ban....they don't answer....I hunt.....

Not sure on that closure in MD. As for Virginia things may be abit tougher. As of 2-3 years ago the State added an amendent to the VA Constitution making Hunting a right. I'm sure the Gov. can adjust the season but may have to jump through several hoops to get it past? We'll see.

I can feel for ya Cyclone. This will pass and you'll be back on track shortly. Not sure how much high tech military back ground you have but trust me. There is a very good and much more important reason for limiting the number of shots fired in a given area. It really has little to do with people calling in falsely. There's some &quot;Super sonic&quot; technogy out there that is way beyond the common eyes and ears intel...

I'm no fan of Gov Glendening and he would have proablly acted on his own knowing the way he is about hunting and guns but this move was requested by the area police saying they were wasting too much time on &quot;shots fired&quot; calls that were hunter related.

MD has changed their hunting license structure, this is the first year that muzzleloader and bow stamps were required. if they don't catch this guy and all muzzleloader season is cancelled i want my money back and encourage everyone else affected to contact the DNR for the same. it'll be interesting to see what excuses the DNR and glendenning come up with to keep our money.

That is terrible. I understand you guys are upset, but asking for your money back is only hurting your cause. Remember the majority of that money goes to preserving your rights as hunters. If you feel the need to rattle someone's cage (which you should) get online and flood the governor with complaints of outrage at his ridiculous decision and contact your state's Congressman. Good luck and let's all pray that this spineless maniac is caught soon.
