Shooting w/finger and no sight

Is there anyone here that shoots a compound like that? I was watching one of my Fitzgerald dvd's tonight and started thinking that I can do that. So I went downstairs and set my back-up bow up for fingers and stripped it down except for my ultra rest and quiver. I'll shoot it tomorrow and if I like it I might keep it that way, with lots and lots and lots of practice. I am still hunting with my Vtec. My back up is a Cybertec Cam+5. It felt good when I drew it back with an arrow nocked.

shot that way for years. can be very effective. killed a lot of animals that way too.
main reason i got away from it was that my friends all shot sights and release and when we went to a local 3d, i could not compete with them. now i can

I did shoot like that, until I put the compounds away for good last year. I shot 3-under with my compounds. That let me keep pretty much the same sight picture I had when using a split finger release on my recurves and longbows. You'll be surprised how quickly you'll start putting good hunting groups in the target at 20 yards. Much easier than you think.

The toughest part will be developing a smooth release if you're not used to fingers shooting.

The only way I've ever shot. I love not having to worry about my sights getting knocked (unless I'm talking about my eyes) and not having to worry about forgetting my release. Even if I forget my glove it just means my finger gets a little pinched. Takes a lot of practice though. Good luck.

I just started shooting like that too. Went 8 for 8 this year with my regular hunting bow, trying to get my first deer with fingers and no sights now. I'm shooting a Protec this way, shoots nice but hoping for a new Hoyt recurve for Christmas. To me it's alot more enjoyable shooting although alot tougher, I like the challenge though. Good luck, let us know how you do.
