Archery tackle

The province of British Columbia,Canada allows the use of crossbows in are bowhunting only seasons. Just wondering what you guys think of this and is it allowed where you are from?

They are allowed in Texas bowseasons for disabled only. I prefer the compound myself.

If you are using a X bow you better have handicap plates on your truck!

Texas' bow season is only one month long- or three weeks if you're not willing to go out the last weekend of the season, which is also the 'youth rifle season'. As KickerPoint says, the crossbow is limited to the disabled only during that month. 'Disabled' being those with a doctor's letter stating they have a permanent uppper limb disability that prevents them from using a conventional bow.

The crossbow is legal for hunting all game, except migratory birds, during any general weapons season - which basically means the other 11 months of the year, except in the counties with a muzzleloader season.

I feel the crossbow will wind up being included in bow seasonsby default. Given the choice between the crossbow and the compound, I think it's a tossup. There is little difference between the two any longer. Although, an entry level compound is a helluva lot better -more effectiveand more reliable -than an entry level crossbow.
