green pee?

i was walking along a well traveled deer path and noticed there was a spot of green liquid on the snow. looked like pee, except greenish blue. is this a deer? or maybe a fox? thos are the only two prints on the path other than mine. there are several deer droppings and other yellow pee spots but this one just stuck out. maybe from a weird diet? or illness?

I saw twice where a doe went pee and it looked the color windshield washer fluid. There was no doubt that it came out of that doe.

i am not certain but i think it does come from eating evergreen trees. I use to hunt a christmas tree farm in Pa during the late season and i saw green pee there at times. I shot a doe there that had a stomach full of half digested spruce needles. they looked like blueish green soup. You would think that the clorophyl would turn their pee green. I am sure that in the spring and early summer their pee is green too we just dont see it.

asparagus? Maybe some swamp weeds?

I know that they tried using SpayVac on some does in NJ, maybe you're near there somewhere? I remember an old Girlfriend of mine went on the pill an for a time it turned her pee blue!

I've also heard that certain infections can turn your pee blue too.

I saw a spot of blue-green pee myself tonight on my way to my stand. It was on the edge of a picked cornfield that butted up to a brushy hedge row. There were pine needles on the snow from 2 to 4 feet in front of the pee spot. From the looks of the tracks, it was from a doe, I believe she was eating the pine needles in front of her tracks. BTW, the deer in this area are doing a lot more browsing before coming out to the fields to feed.
