My dream buck....
 

I was cleaning up some files on my desktop and came across these photos so I thought I would post them up. They're from the 2001 season in JoDaviess County, IL. We only saw this buck twice while hunting him hard all year, but never got a shot. After the season he seemed to have disappeared and we never saw or heard of him again.

Impressive? I think so.

And for good measure - this is the buck I've been chasing all year long but haven't managed to get another photo of him! He added a whole bunch of kicker points this year and he's awesome. One month left to try and get him.

EDIT - This buck is in Lake County, IL. Home of Forest Preserves, New subdivisions, trespassers, tree huggers, and a few big bucks.

You Illinois guys are about the luckiest hunters around. HUGE bucks like this behind every tree! ;):D

That 2002 buck is absolutely incredible. Mirror image forks on his G2's and awesome tine length make him look like he approaches world class in appearance even though the fork would lower his score. Awesome, simply awesome.

Both nice bucks....That JoDaviess County buck is beyond impressive!!! A guy doesn't get to see that kind of tine length very often.

I get the feeling he has/had more mass than the pic would seem to show in the second photo. With that kind of length, at that time of year, and with that heavy of a body those tines would be all broke up if he was even a little spindley. He would appear not to be one of those sterile monsters either. Look at his posture in that second photo...Let's hope his seed is spread to the four corners of the world!!! :D
