HuntingNet.com Forums - Got a buck this week

Well after seeing and shooting several bows I finally went out looking for a buck. Tuesday was my first day of hunting this year where I went out soley to find a decent buck and had intentions of passing does. Well this is the only deer I saw, the second biggest buck I have seen this year. Good size for me, seeing how I have only killed one buck before this (he was a real small six point but the first deer I had ever killed). We did a rough score on him and got 115, I am happy! :)

Just to finish the story, public ground can be interesting to hunt. I think that this buck had busted someone before in the area I was hunting. I saw him at 100yds out and watched him the whole way in ( man i love hunting in the snow). He got to about 25yds and was in a creek bed (no shot needed him to get out of it). He sat in that creek and starred me down, then he looked at the ground for about 2 seconds and then snapped his head right at me. Did this about 5 times then he decided to come out of the creek, he walked behind a tree, that is when I drew as soon as he stepped out I let the arrow fly (18 yd shot) . Hit him in the heart, went about 40yds, stopped, wobbled then fell over. What a rush, I am really loving my new hobby!!!
