Second Rut
 

Im new to bow hunting, and i know about the normal rut, and when that takes place, but i was talking to a guy today and he said that a second rut should be taking place soon. Does anyone know if that is correct information, and any ideas on when it normally takes place in South Dakota

If the doe is not bread 28 days after the doe was in estrous she will come into heat again. Hence the "second rut". Here in North Central Mn it has been done for a couple of weeks

i have been around my area and havent seen any bucks chasing does or anything, but the does and smaller bucks are starting to group up, and the bigger bucks have seemed to dissapear
