The rut is still on?

whether u believe it or not, the deer here in southeast kentucky r still in rut. I went out this evening and had a doe run over top of me. i started to draw my bow when i caught movement out of the corner of my eye. a good buck for the area, about a 8 point. it's nose was to the ground and it was in a dead sprint after that doe but i couldn't get a shot. according to everyone around here, the rut should have went out weeks ago. i don't know?

Bryan...luckily youve found a doe that hasnt been bred yet and shes coming into estrus again. I havent seen any rut activity since late November. I hunt Whitly and Knox county.

yea there are at least two maybe three ruts a year all 28 days apart. some of the early doe fawns get bred there first year but they are not going to be ready for the first rut so there is some late breeding activityalso for some reason some adult does just dont get bred
