Filled my last tag Sat. Ill be chaseing porkey around for the next few months. Got to love Texas and all our hogs.;)

It's a lucky antler necklace...:D and it's probably why I don't have any tags left:D, actually only had one and I filled it on my archery buck.

All of them and Jan 7. ends the season. But that's typical for me. I usually don't shoot unless I want to mount it. I usually don't take a doe the first week because that's my first jump on the bucks I've patterned and then well the second week is when I want another crack at the buck that didn't show up where he was supposed to, and well the third week.... Now that I'm in the area known as west of the mountains I am only allowed one deer a day and it's hard to release on a doe early in the day knowing it will end your hunt. Besides I haven't gotten my freezer down into my basement yet. Late in the season I usually go east and it's not a big deal to see 15- 50 deer in one day there, so I always think I can fill my freezer later.

I still have both of mine. I passed on alot of deer early on that I wish I would have taken now. At least season opens back up on the 19th and runs til Jan. 10th. Not going to be as picky this time.

Heck, I'v got more than I started with. In my area of CT theres unlimited replacement doe tags & this year they had an earn a buck type deal. Your third doe you get another antlerless tag and another buck tag. So I still have 2 anlerless, my first 2 buck tags & a replacement buck tag. Got till the end of the month to fill them & then I need next years tags to hunt thru Jan.

Already filled my2 archery tags and lone shotgun tag earlier, but when I went and bought my new Switchback I wanted to try some late season hunting on some of the big boys we got running around on our farm.

I have my Cardeer necklace around my neck and about two weeks to go , I figure to take a doe before the season endsfrom which i'll take the backstraps and donate the rest to the needy . You don't need a Cardeer necklace to do that , but it doesn't hurt your chances ... ;)
