Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
Does anyone know where i can get German Kinetic's Silver Flames for less than $20 a head. They look like awsome heads. But $20 a pop, that's robbery.
Any one out there use these? What kind of success have you had? Flight/Penitration/Damage/Recovery? What grain do you shoot? Looks like they have put a lot of thinking into these babies. Very cool website. www.german-kinetics.com ![]() ![]() |

Just get Stingers

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
If I was associated would I start off by bashing the price? Please. There may be some spam on here but I'm not it. That's 4 sure. Only read-up on the site and read some good info on the blade shape and all. I 'm looking for a good COC head for elk hunting. Would like a 3 or 4 blade though, because of what I've heard about the 2 blade wounds not being enough.

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
They look to be a great head , nothing wrong with a 2 blade . If you post on archerytalk.com you may get more responces , the designer himself posts on that board .

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
All of those holes don't create weak spots. Seems like it would make them vunerable to breaking on bone.

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
Way to many good heads on the market for me to pay $20.00 a pop[&:]
|
RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
waterfx. Can you give me a reason to spend that kind of money on these heads? I mean are they the best things you've ever shot? What kindsuccess(wound/recovery) on game have you had? Do they really fly like a field point? I had yet to find a head that flies like a field point. What type of game have you shot with these? thanks
|
RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
I don't care with they track the animal and have it gutted for you when you get there they're not worth $20.00 a pop. Save yourself a bunch of money and go pay $32 for 6 Muzzy's. The animal will be just as dead when you find him.

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
Anyone use these on elk yet?

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
Those heads are not inteneded for the average joe hunting whitetails. They are designed for extremely large and heavy game such as buffalo and elephants where the ultimate in reliability, strength, toughness, and penetration is required.
Just about anything will pass through a whitetail but not sowhen you are huntingthe heaviestanimalsthis planet has to offer. IMO if I were to hunt cape buffalo and elephants with a bow I sure as hell wouldn't be doing it with a Muzzy or Thunderhead. $20 each is nothing compared getting your guts stomped out by a pissed off elephant. |
RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
All that I can tell you is that as long as Muzzy's are $30 for 6 heads I'll NEVER pay $20 a head for broadheads.
That's ridiculous. |

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
I like broadheads, they interest the hell out of me.I like looking at them analizing them and of course killing whitetails with them.I have several different types and brands but my favorite as of the last two seasons has been the 100 gr. Wac'ems.Killed quite a few deer with them and they performed great. However,I just purchased a 3 pack of the 100 gr. Silver Flames and they are one impressive broadhead. There is nothing out there that will compare to the sharpness of the bladeand durability of the edge to remain that way.The over all construction of this head is flawless. And yes they do fly to the same point of impact as fieldpoints from a properly tuned bow setup.

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
well havn't got too shoot a gritter with em ye but they fluy great I put one right on top of a muzzy pratice bh just a little nick which would have sharpened right out but my son thought I was done with it so still have to play with it abit but from stupid sharp out of the box shooting over a hundred times in to a wasp bh target and still shave hair off my arm m can a muzzy do that I think not I shoot muzzies too but for elk silverflames is it for me muzzies for every thing else. they perform and as far as I am concerned like my rifle ammo will shoot the best thing at a critter I can get my hands on. I I havenoticed a trend on the othere sights I belong too that alot of the guys this year even though I brought it up last year are getting the silverflames cause they are know out in 100 grn I went with dozen 125's and know I am not affiliated with em just love the head ask Paul elknut1

$20 EACH!!??
That's rediculous! Magnus Stinger Buzzcut is ALL YOU NEED! They're like $25 for a package of 3! Whew! |
RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
I think I might try the Simmons Razorsharks. They are half the price look like a quality head. Does anyone have any experience with the Razorsharks? Thanks to all who have replied!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
Absolutely NO WAY in he-- is any broadhead worth $20. That's just stupid. And face it, the only thing that makes them at all interesting IS the price. You know, "well heck if it cost that much it's got to be the greatest". German engineering and European marketing.Face it, there's no way in the world you broadhead should cost twice as much as your arrow. There are too many exceptional, reasonably priced broadheads out there. And, I beg to differ with some. The more hole you cut the better. I just have to have that 3rd or 4th blade. They're just better for blood trails. Save yourself some time, a whole lot of money and aggrevation looking for a discount on the already rediculously priced over hyped piece of steel. I'll have about 18 arrows tipped with their own broadhead when the season starts. Can you imagine tipping them with these things at $25 each. I could buy a bow.

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
I hunted with Zwickey 2-bl heads for years and every deer I double-lunged I watched it drop or heard the crash with 60yds.The funny thing isthey cut a slice going in,a slice going out and cut blood vessels in between--just like a Silver Flame does. The amazing thing is I pay $22 for a 6-pk of them.

RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
Guys,
you obviously havent seen these broadheads. I got some last week. They are the best broadheads I have ever seen and I have seen just about all of them. They are sharper than anything I have ever seen and more durable. I am not associated with them either. My honest opinion. I got mine at www.germankineticsusa.com Rick |
RE: Silver Flame Broadheads(OH-MAN)
Oh but I have seen them. A friend bought 3 of them and said they were good, but just too pricey for a steady diet. Of course at those prices if they can just get a few to buy a 3 pack they're lovin the sales.[8D]
