Wow, fantastic buck! A wall hanger for sure, Congrats. Makes me want to get back out there. It had to be cold and windy, did you freeze your nuts off?

Thanks for the support. The story is. I was supposed to be scouting some standing crops in Pope Co Il but my wife was holding up the scouting trip so my Cousin and I decided to try and hunt not far from my house as he did not arrive untill about 2:30. The wind was out of the soutwest and we had about 3.5 inches of snow or so on the ground. I decided if we could not hunt standing crops we would hunt some honysuckle patches on a 10 acre thicket surrounded by a cut bean field on the north and a sage grass field on the left and hardwoods on the west side. My cousin took the N sorth side and I took the east side.

Approx 4:08 I took a pic with my phone and sent it to my budddy saying I must be crazy, cuz I was froze! Ten minutes later a small deer approached from the North ( Scentlok) and It gave me a 10yd quartering away shot. Good I am done and I can get warm. I radioed the cousin, no reply. He forgot to turn on the radio. Later that turned out to be a good thing. Assuming he had deer near him I stayed put and another doe was coming from the same directions as the first. I am thinking I am getting a double. She stops looks my way and then I hear, crunch, crunch. This bad boy was coming from the East (Scentlok) headed west behind me at 30 yard. One quick spin move around the stand and a baahhh. He stopped in a perfect spot as the kill zone was all that was open between the branches. I let the 100 grain Muzzy fly and smack. He went about 60 yard and fell over backwards.

I was beside myself as this is the biggest deer I have ever taken and to take with a Bow make it even sweeter for me also.
