Crossbows
I will soonbegin researching crossbows. I know there are some strong opinions on use of a crossbow, but beyond that, any recommendationsfor generalcrossbow researchand/or appropriate product selection (weight, speed) for white tail deer hunting?

RE: Crossbows
There are several good crossbows on the market, I think Horton makes a good one. Here in Pa you must use one with at least 150lbs and no more than 200lbs of pull. This will vary from state to state. Hope this helps.:)

RE: Crossbows
I'm not sure this is exactly kosher, talking about another forum, but there is a crossbow forum on Excalibur's website. I'm sure the guys there can give you a jumpstart on your research.

RE: Crossbows
If crossbows are your thing,it would be hard to beat a Ten Point crossbow.

RE: Crossbows
I have a Excaliber Phoenix Crossbow i like it very accurate...but i'm getting another Compound Bow After Christmas. Its just no fun to shoot anymore and i dont feel right going into the woods with it anymore. For me it takes out the fun of Archery Season.

RE: Crossbows
Have you ever looked at a Draw-Loc.. They also make a 24 inch axle to axle bow with the draw loc built in. I hope the reason your using a cross bow is because you absolutly can not draw a bow back for medical reasons. Here in Iowa you have to have a Doctor verify your disability.

RE: Crossbows
i would only hunt with a cross bow because it offers more ambush set ups. i'd lay down off a trail and have a camo mesh net trown over me. prown, low, little movementand deadly.

RE: Crossbows
i have an Excaliber. not sure of which model but its the fastest one at 350 fps. this bow is AMAZING and you'd be crazy to look past it. its wider uncocked than the Ten Points but much faster for the money.
