How long with first bow???
 

I purchased my first bow 3 weeks ago and have yet to go out and hunt. I have been visiting my local range a few times a week and absolutly love shooting my bow. I purchased a PSE Typhoon and really like it.

The other day I had a wonderful experience at the range when a few very friendly guys came in all shooting Hoyt's. One was very persistant about me trying his bow after I made a comment about it. After much hesitation I decided to give it a try. I know after only 3 weeks I shouldn't be even considering it but I have been going to bed every night now debating weather or not to go purchase a Hoyt.

The difference between my $300 bow and his $500 bow was amazing. I tested a bunch of bows when I purchased mine but was unable to really tell the difference. Now after shootinga bunch I can clearly see a difference. Did any of you purchase your second bow this soon after getting your first?

I had my first bow for 2 years. It was a Proline Tornado.Beautiful all wood compound. 2nd a Bear Cheyenne for 3 years,3rd a High Country Brute Forcefor 1 year 4th a Hoyt Razor Techfor 2 years on now I am on my 5th(compound that is) a Hoyt trykon. Notice once I shot hoyt I quit switching brands. Awesome bows...

I would say if you can afford the bow and feel like it would be a productive switch then do it.

If you feel confident enough about hunting with the PSE, then do that.

But in any case, get fitted properly. I just bought my first bow and have yet to fire a single shot out of it simply because the pro shop I dealt with didn't feel it was necessary to properly fit me. An extra 2'' of draw length can make rolling the cams over pretty difficult. [:@] And wouldn't you know, the bow is draw length specific. No adjustment on the cams. Bummer! The draw weight is probably too much for me as well.

So the moral of the story, make sure you get the proper fit for the bow. If you like the Hoyt and can afford one go for it. If not, wait until you have the money buy theHoyt at a later date.
