Deermeateater,
I use a 4 inch when I am utilizing a 3 blade traditional broadhead and 3 inch fletch when I use an "open on impact" broadhead by spitfire. I prefer the 4 inch due to the increase in stability but like the weightlessness of 3 inch Good Luck and shoot straight

You should use the smallest fletching posible that will give you good, stable arrow flight.

The bigger the fletching, the more control you will have but at the expense of addition weight. You are talking about 3 and 4 inch. Most hunters in my neck of the woods use 4 inch fletching. Generally speaking, above 30 inch arrow length, 4 inch fletching becomes marginal. I know several who use 5 inch, especially with fixed blade broadheads...Good luck, Fletch

Good Luck All....Fletch
