New Switchback XT...

RE: New Switchback XT...
it is alot more than hundredths of a second and obviously you're too uneducated to see that.
Believe it or not at 20yds the difference is only a few hundredths of a second between the two arrows, and you have absolutely no idea as to my education level...but lets just say it's much higher than yours
this is where the "first hand experience" of hunting comes in and i hope someday you don't have to miss the buck of a lifetime to figure that out.
just for the record, the speed off the bow is a little faster but the arrow doesnt really lose a whole lot of speed after that. the only force it has slowing it down is air resistance, which doesnt do a whole heck of alot to an arrow
Oh yeah.....I took physics too

I too, have the Switchback and I love it. Iknow, and can say it's the best bow I have ever owned. I work construction but right now with the winter months being slow I also work part time in a bow shop for a friend. He is the Mathews dealer here in Idaho Falls. With shooting the Switchback against the Switchback XT I can honestly say I can't feel much difference, some maybe but not by much, if at all IMO.The regularSwitchback is so smooth and quietit can't get much better. I sure wouldn't sell my SB for the SBXT, and you can bet on that. Now I do have a lot of credit, I get paid half in Cash and half in store Credit. I can buy anything in the store at my friend's (dealer) pricing. For christmas my wife is getting a new Mathews Mustangand my kids are getting some good used bows as well. But even after that and the fact that I am watching/runningthe shopfor half days every day for the month of december and january that the shop is open. Welllets just say I will have enough credit to buy the XT for myself later this spring. If I am strapped for cash I know that I could turn around and sell it for almost full price. But man it would be nice to have both one as a main bow and one as a backup. Question is which one will be the main bow and which is the backup bow?? I don't know, but it will be fun!!!

RE: New Switchback XT...
Jhalf... If you aimed between the heart and lungs as you say... Think about this... A deer chest cavity is about 12 - 15 inches deep, Correct..?? Your saying at 20 yards that deer dropped over 8" before that arrow got there, since if that is where you aimed you were on the lower 25% of the deer... I can't see that...AND you were hunting from the ground which means you had perfect side view, not like from a treestand... Where your target is much smaller... IMO, and only Mine and it doesn't really matter... You can blame the bow all you want if that allows you to sleep better...
And if you still have that POS and are interested in dumping it, I'll take it off your hands... It's probably bad luck to have around the house, a subpar bow like that...
Anyway back to the Switchback XT... That's interesting Idahoelk, and your right... The difference... Not much... Just something new... But this one has a Deer Engraved on the handle... That has to be worth something...

I shot both back to back last night and couldn't tell much difference - The guy at the proshop said he felt a little string vibration in the xt that wasn't in the switchback. I ended up leaving with the switchback....main reason was I could takea switchback home, or wait a month (maybe longer) for the XT. Both were excellent bows.

You know as much as I would like to drop this I just can't.
Below is a link showing arrow speeds and the time to impact. Scroll down and you will clearly see the difference between a 300fps and 275fps at 20yds is less than TWO ONEHUNDRETHS OF A SECOND, yes...two ONEHUNDRETHS of a second. It also shows that an arrow will lose 3% of it's speed every 10yards, so an arrow leaving the bow at 300fps will only be going about 221.22fps at 100yds so NO your arrow will not cover 300ft in a second. We have something called atmosphere to deal with here on earth. But you should have known that because " youtake Physics too"
It also talks about deer reacting to the sound of the bow or "jumping the string" and while a faster bow will help some, what I and others were trying to say is at 30yds, neither you nor the deer can tell the difference between 270fps and 300fps. To put this into perspective, a blink of an eye is about 3 tenths of a second, thatsover 10 times slower than the difference between the arrows.
Please read and learn something.

RE: New Switchback XT...
i just have to reply to whats his name. I own a legacy, it is very very quiet and the deer have no clue what hit them in ranges from 8yds out to 40yds. I think your deer was scared by some kind of noise when you released. But blame it on the bow cause we all know its not your fault, you god of speed and bowhunting.

Well.....all I know is.....MY switchback and I were hunting a few weeks ago...and we had 2 bucks and a doe right under us. I attempted to draw back on the larger buck....and MY switchback farted.
Yep....FARTED....
