First Bow Kill.....Yahoo!!
 

On tues nite,my son and I went out to a property I have never hunted before.Since it was my first time out this season,I was just hoping to see one for Brandon's sake( Brandon is 9 years old, and is a good shot already with his bow).Anyways, at 7:05 pm we could hear that heart-pounding sweet noise of DEER approaching.Three does came out at 15 yards, I looked back at my son ,and his eyes were as big as oranges.I drew and settled the pin on the sweet spot.She only ran 45-50 yards and expired.I'm so impressed with my 100 grain Spitfires...What an entry and exit wound.Had a bit of a time tracking her at dark in thick cedar trees, but the blood trail was ENORMOUS!! Anyways.she weighed 175 lbs on the hoof and if I can figure out how to post a picture I will.You guys and Gals have been a huge help with all of the information on this board.Thanx.Steve and Brandon.

Wow, and I thought my 100 lbs doe was good sized. Good job sc40. there is nothing like getting the little ones involved in your hunting experiences. It is something that they will remeber for their lifetime.

congrats. sc40; that was a large doe.our's are only 90 to 110lbs.
That is something your son will always remember.

Congrats Steve - I can't wait to take Garrett along with me - he is only 16 months old, and runs up to the TV screaming anytime a deer, elk etc. is on one of the hunting shows wanting to pet it...(think I will wait at least until he gets over that)

SC I'd like to congradulate you and your son on that first DEER. It'll be a memorable one That being your first and your son was there to enjoy the moment with you!
My season is now finished due to an opperation yesterday!
Oh well Ihave moose meat in the freezer any how

Great job SC!! I have a 6 and 8 year old myself. I can't wait to take them out a few times this season. Hope I can share a moment with them like that. Tell me how in the world did you get Brandon to sit still long enough ....lol.

I have my 6 year old practicing with a 9 1/2 lb compound bow . Can't wait till he has enough noise discipline to take him with me. And the 3 year old is always talking about going hunting with me. Those will be some fantastic times. Congrats.

man they really do grow em bigger in Canada....congratulations and with the son there. my son was there two years ago when we bagged a nice 8 pter and he is forever hooked.
