Gametrack Silvertip Performance Photos

As CG did with his recent experiences with the Rocky Mountain Snypers I am going to post about my recent experience with a relative "unknown" in the broadhead wars...the Gametracker Silvertip. These heads can be found just about everywhere but this particular pack was picked up at Walmart while the wife was buying diapers. Cutting diameter is around an inch and a half and the head, in this particular instance, weighs 100 grains though it is adjustable. Cost per 3 is usually around $15.

The pictures below were taken of a doe that I harvested this past Monday night. The shot was at approximately 25 yards and the deer managed to turn away from me a bit during the shot...hence the far back position of the wound. It collapsed on the spot and died within a minute. Penetration was minimal...approximately 5-6 inches and there was no exit wound. But, the damage was substantial.

The first pic is that of the wound itself....

Followed by what was left of the broadhead itself...in other words..."nothing". The head disintegrated upon impact. I could find absolutely nothing in the deer or in the surrounding area.

Finally, I thought some of you folks might appreciate a pic of my wife and son next to the deer. I was very proud to be able to show Logan his daddy's first harvest of the year.

Wow! Frank, how did you get a chainsaw attached to the end of your arrow? Cute kid. You must be a proud papa.

Good lord man!.....are you sure you didn't shoot that with a Winchester Ballistic Silvertip instead?
Geez not your traditional entrance wound huh?

I'm guessing by the length of the wound that you got some "slashing" action as the deer whirled away from the shot? with one blade slicing before the head actually bit and penetrated?
I must say that the "After" photo of the broadhead was less than impressive. ......
Are you worried at all what will happen if you hit a shoulder bone or even a dead center rib hit?
Did you get the pic I sent of last nights results with the 4 blade Sidewinder?.....that head is really wicked and would be right up your alley. 2 for 2 this week.

In any event congrats on your deer and watch for shrapnel in the chili.

Oh yeah......little Logan looks REALLY impressed.

Any broadhead that falls apart that badly is an accident waiting to happen. You may not be so fortunate the next time. I'd change... NOW!!!!

That is strange , but the wound looks like an exit wound from one of my lightfield slugs , very impressive.

Your son is a cutie! And your wife appears to be a woman with excellent taste!

Dont let it go to your head , I'm talking about the Greenbay Packer sweatshirt she's wearing

I have been using GameTracker Silver Tips since last year. 3 deer so far without and broadhead damage. I have good blood trails also.
I can't tell from the photo but did the head get swallowed by the shaft?
