RE: Rut In Ohio
I live in No. KY about right across the river from OH. I have always seen a lot of bucks getting out & running a lot the last week of October. Last week I found some rubs ( a little earlier than normal for my area) and i called a buck into a estrous bleat call. by mid november they seem to be rutting good most years. If I had to pick a time to hunt the last week of october & the first week of november would be good.

RE: Rut In Ohio
I agree around the last week of October or the 1st or second week of nov. I've heard that it depends on if there's a full moon or not. A full moon is suppoused to trigger the rut. (True or not I don't know.) Jim

RE: Rut In Ohio
Im in central ohio and im already seeing pre rut activities. Im finding rubs and even 3 scrapes. The scrapes supprised me cause I usually dont see them till late Oct. or early Nov. but I think these are from a small buck. I have seen sparing already and one real fight but that was in West Va. over food. I am seeing bucks checking does but they aint chasin 'em yet. Rut hits in early Nov. and peaks in mid Nov. I think it might come early this year tho due to cool weather coming early.
