I have always saw the most mature bucks in the mornings in my area. I would say 4-5 to 1.

This year for example I have saw 6 different mature bucks on 9 occasions in the mornings with only 1 mature buck sighting in the evening all season.

So, 10 mature buck sightings with only 3 shot opportunities offered andall at the same buck whoI gavethe green lightto this year, that got killed anyhow

Best of luck in the late season, seems we will both need it [&:]

I've always had better late season luck during the evening when deer are on their way to the fields to feed. It's always seemed to me that after all the pressure of the early bow season and gun season the big boys are back to bed down well before first light.

I'll say evenings also. They seem to move before daylight after all the pressure and colder temps.Plus it's harder to get into the stand undetected with all the cover gone.

Mid day has always been the best for me.

I've always seen alot of movement around noon in my area. We can still hunt does with a gun during late archery season, so when the hunters leave the woods at lunch I take my walks around and almost always see deer.

I opt for mornings until mid-December, then see more deer and nice bucks in the evening.

From all of the replies above including mine, one should realize it depends on the area and amount of pressure deer receive. Deer are also individuals in my opinion, so what one may do in one area may be the opposite of a deer in another area.
