RE: How much camouflage?
Unless it's gun season I'm always in full camo. Headnet, gloves, 3-D cover suit, cover scent, everything. I'll be the first to admit that I don't actually need all that stuff but it sure don't hurt to have it. Some of my best hunts have been when I forgot something back at home and had to do without. That cough suppresor is a nice idea but unless you're hacking up a lung it's just a gimick. Scent atractants and deer calls are another nice idea but sometimes they spook deer. Tree stand aren't always nessasary, last year I forgot my safety strap so I just hunkered up beside a tree, wore full camo, kept very still and killed a nice 6 pointer who thought I was a bush or something. The 8 pointer I took this year was so fooled by a decoy he wouldn't have seen me if wore a clown suit.
A basic set of camo is just fine and shouldn't cost too much. Don't buy anything too expensive or too dark in color. I use natural gear. Including a headnet and gloves will help but it's not nessasary. Learn to play the wind and you won't need all of the scent control stuff but it can help if the winds shift more than your hunting position.
