RE: Rut!!!!!!!!!!!

Hunter4 - I live in Sangamon County a little north of you. We hunt just south of here in Macoupin County. Anyway, typically I start to see major sign near the end of October. What is so great about bowhunting is that you see all stages of the rut. I have witnessed the Chase phase of the rut around the 1st week of November. Normally the rut for us is around the 15th of November. I would assume that you would experience your rut maybe a little later, but I will defer to the experts here. I'm just reporting on what I've seen in my own little world.

I am planning on hunting this coming Monday. The temps are going in the right direction for a change and I don't want to miss out on our first real cold spell for the year (lows in my area are suppose to be around 35).

Again - I'll defer to the experts on th sex wafers, but I generally start to use my esterous scents during the start of the chase phase. Nothing like that smell to get the boys wondering if its "that time." Good luck to you this Fall. Do you plan to gun hunt as well?

RE: Rut!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree. Here in NE they're predicting the rut in early November so I assume those sents will be effective starting in late October through mid-November. When I've hit it right the old Tinks 69 has worked well.

Generally the rut is late October to mid to late November.

The best of luck in all your hunting endeavors!!!

God Bless,
