Do Yearling Does or Mature Does Go Into Heat First?
 

Thr rut is just now starting here and I have seen one buck chasing a 1.5 year old. All the mature does seem like they are still with their fawns.

I think that mature does usually go into heat first...and the yearling does go into hear later. Usually causing the "second rut."

I read this in a magazine of mine last month. And I think I'm remembering correctly.

I have always heard that the older does go first but I have never done a scientific sniff test I just took their word for it.

the mature does will go into heat first, usually theyll leave their young or push em out of the group. a month after they go into rut usually the younger deer go into rut.
