Need New Lights - Recommendations?
Well my lights died. [:@]I had a STUPID amount of money in them, and they only lasted a few years with minimal use. I'm going to buy new ones, or at least one, in the next day or so. Tracking at night with cheap flashlights is NOT fun. What do you guys recommend/use? Thanks.

What kind of lights did you have? I have a coleman camping latern if I would have to track in the dark. Havent gotten a chance to use it though. Im sure it would do the trick and it wouldnt cost that much.

RE: Need New Lights - Recommendations?
I had 2 sets of NightRider halogens. Ultra bright, super white, and tremoundous burn times. One was a dual beam, the othera single. I also have a Coleman lantern with two "wick things" that I've never used to track deer at night, so I'm not sure how that would work. But I loaned that to a neighbor the other day to take his kids camping, and he returned it "broke"...so I didn't have that option the other night either. I'm considering putting a truck battery in my backpack next time and getting a 10 mil candle power floodlight to use. :D Someone suggested taking a black light intot the woods...said it shows the blood clearly...anyone ever tried THAT?

I have a coleman lantern which works nice, but I also bought a 12volt coon hunting light with a spotlight too. These can be expensive according to how high you want to go, but they also have a wide variety of price ranges as well. Worth every penny when they cast that light on your trophy at the end of the bloodtrail. I also have used the big style maglite that takes 3, D cell batteries, and it does a nice job as well. Their are alot of choices, just decide what will work best for you and what will make you more confident, as tracking is just as important as the shot itself. Good luck.

I'm leaning towards something like a coon hunting light right now...I want extended burn time, portabilty, AND good and bright. My darn Nite Riders were PERFECT til they died. [:@]

Propane Lanterns are about the best IMO if you are blood tracking in the dark. A spotlight is helpful of you want to look ahead.
