How long does your Gore-Tex last??
It seems my last few pairs of Gore Tex boots (Danners) all go about 3 years or so and they begin to slowly allow water to seep in. Feet dont get soaked but they allow some moisture in. I now use a waterproofing spray on them. Are yours still bone dry after a few years or no?

This happens alot, 9 times out of 10 the goretex is clogged. I would wash your boots first with a goretex cleaner. You can get them at Cabela's, bass pro etc. Give it a shot it may work

For upland bird hunting I wear all leather 600 grm. Danners. Put Mink oil on them regularly and you never have to worry about water.

My boots never last 3 years so I dont know for sure. The ones I just bought last month are size 14 Itasca with 1200 grams of Thinsulate and waterproof. I tested them out and they are great so far.

REAL Goretex, I've never had a problem. It's when you get into these other brands that claim to be the same or better you have trouble. I have Goretex boots that are 15 years old and still waterproof. The soles look like I tried to run them through a shredder. In fact, One pair lost all the nobby treads on one boot. I said, "How in the world did that happen"? I finally realized I melted them by the campfire on a turkey camp out. The boots are still waterproof. I usually have 3 or 4 pairs of boots going at a time with varying degrees of insulation etc.
