Question about a deer mount

Ok, the post about getting a doe mounted got me to thinking. I have 2 racks that I have mounted on those plaques that you can buy at Fleetfarm. One of them is an 8 point, that I shot with my gun about 10 years ago. I wanted to get him mounted back then, but I just didnt have the money. The other one is an 8 point that I got with my bow just this year. (it was the first buck with my bow). Ok, has anyone ever had an old rack mounted, and used the hide off a fresh doe, or smaller buck? Or can you take the rack to the taxidermist and have them use a cape that they might have. And if yes, would this take anything away from the mount for you?

Nope, I always look at antlers first when I look at a mount

Doe with Antlers? 8pt Doe might look a little funny. Might want to mount the next Buck you kill.

most taxidermists can supply you with a cape(or you can go to your local butcher and he can get you one) for 25-75 dollars, I would definitely do it! It really improves the look of the horns and it gives the animal it's proper respect
