5 feet per second
I am looking at 2 different bows. One saw IBO 295 FPS and the other says IBO 300. How big a differnece is that really?

RE: 5 feet per second
NONE... You'll never see the difference...

RE: 5 feet per second
It is nothing, I think. What bows are you looking on? Look for "forgiveness", if all else is equal!

Opps.....it is 10 FPS???

RE: 5 feet per second
Probably still doesn't matter considering most of them are not accurate on thier claims any way.
And that is the IBO speed, that says nothing about how they will shoot with your set up. The best thing to do is find a good shop that carries the bows you want to look at. Have them set both bows at the same poundage and a draw length that fits you. Then shoot an arrow simular to the weight you will shoot and see which is better. If the slower bow felt better in my hand and was quiter with less vibration I would take it over the faster bow to be honest. Which bows in particular are talking about? Paul |
RE: 5 feet per second
You'd never even know. Shooter a lighter grain and make up the 5fps...
|
RE: 5 feet per second
who cares, at either of those speeds it doesn't even matter, shot selection and placement are much more important

RE: 5 feet per second
It's the Reflex Grizzly and the Excursion,But I am still not sure if they are the ones I want to go with...maybe a PSE????

ORIGINAL: GooseHunter Jr. Opps.....it is 10 FPS??? |
RE: 5 feet per second
I like the Grizzly. Longer ATA and a longer riser should be a bit more forgiving. However the Excursion has a bit less reflex and more brace height, with a shorter ATA. I bet that is your speed loss right there, the excursion has a bit less of a power stroke for the same draw.
I would actually be interested in the Grizzly. 38 inch ATA and it goes down to 25 inch draw. I may have found my next bow;) Of course if your looking for a short ATA hunting bow, that ain't it. Paul |
