Default My new tree stand...

Just bought a Summit Viper X5. I got it put together, and while it will take some getting used to, ( I have been using an API for several years) I think I am going to like it.

Anyone else have any experience with it, and if so, what are your thoughts?

Summits are extremely comfortable. I think you will enjoy it. They can be a little bulky and noisy but if for all day sits they're the best.

I currently have an API, but a good friend of mine constantly tells me to switch over to a Summit, he loves it. This guy is a "hard sell" so I bet you'll enjoy it to. By the way, he stays on stand all day during the rut and it doesn't seem to bother him - for what it's worth.

I bought an X5, this year, as well. I love it.

One thing I'd suggest....I took mine to a place here that sprays on truck bedliners. I had them spray the product to my lower stand (The part you stand on). I now have better confidence in slippery conditions.....and it's quieter when the two pieces touch.

Just a thought...

How much did that cost you? How much did it add to the weight of the stand?

Very little to the weight of the stand (<1lb???). It cost about $25.
