I use the natural attractants that God gave us. The deers food source , corn fields , soy bean , acorns , water source. Learn the deer patterns , when they eat what , what time etc. Find their bedding areas and find the heavy trails leading to the food & water sources from the bedding area. I try to setup a good 20 yards or so off the heavy trails because bucks dont use the heavy trails , they usually stay anywhere from 10 - 30 yards off the main trails.
Hope this helps! It would be easy to post a popular scent brand , but without doing your homework like mentioned above , it would be money wasted.

Where do you hunt? What type of terain? What natural food sourses are available? I think BOWFANATIC is right if you're hunting an area that has defined bedding areas and the food sources are well concentrated. Much of the land that I hunt does not have these well defined beding areas and we do not have the luxury of farm crops. If you're situation is like mine you will have better luck by locating natural "funnels" in areas that have the most deer sign. Don't worry so much about attracting them to you, set up where they travel...Welcome to the forum...Fletch from Texas

i spread corn and a apple mineral block around my stand and im going to spread some apples maybe even some pears...i will hunt in the evening but not the first morning...have a better spot for that...i cant have it there before 30 days i will be hunting there though....thats ok...they way they had it tore up freshly a week after the corn was there i think 30 days after a few more feedings should have them hooked....and hte area is a natural funnel so it is already good...i just wanted to ensure deer go past my stand daily...i couldnt believe what they did over a 40 lb bag of corn(doesnt go as far as youd think)...the whole area plus some was TORE up bad...and it wasnt turkeys either it was definently deer...and there were 3 fresh rubs(early for rubs here when i seen them) wiothin 50 yds of my stand! i cant wait!

I hunt where the deer are feeding, inbetween beding & feeding areas, travel routes, etc.
This may go against tradtitional wisdom & whitetail hunting strategies but I never use deer scents. The only thing I do use is scent killer spray. I have increased my deer sightings & harvest by not using scents. I have found that for me that it is best not to do anything out of the normal by using scents.
I do use deer calls and have great luck using grunt & bleat calls at certain times of the year. Deer calling can & does work when the conditions are right.
I have found that it is better to just blend in & not use anything not out in the woods when I get there. I have found this works for me & I do not encourage everyone to do what I do.....it just works for me. If you want to try something new try what I do, it may or may not work for you.

I seem to have pretty good luck with the first time use of Ticks "Draw 2" deer courisity scent. Usually draws in bucks this time of year. Once you use it in one spot and a buck comes, I would consider it to be the last use at that stand for the year. I think scents work the first time if there are deer and that is what they want to smell. If that is not want they want to smell, I figure you are ruining your hunt.
I NEVER see a doe with that stuff blowing around. They must hate it even though it says attracts both. Acorns work better, but use what you can.
