Stinger Buzzcutts at work.........again
 

I shot another button buck on Friday night at around 5:00........man we have seen 99% of the deer this year after 5:00.........crazy. Mornings have sucked. Anyways.......I drilled him at 15 yards and I was shocked to see how fast he was done for. Turns out it was a little far back and it hit him just right catching the backs of his lungs, sliced the diaphragm and mangled the liver. He took 2 hops and then just crashed down the hill. It was over in about 3 seconds. The blood was insane.

I have been using 4 blade Magnus Stingers for 2 years now and used the Buzzcutt version this year. Just thought I would post some pics of how well they perform for anyone shopping for a head to try.

Here is my arrow I shot him with Justin...........you can see where the blood is gone about mid quiver. That is how far the arrow was stuck in the ground.

Hey, she's filling up, ain't she Atlas?

Do you process them yourself, or take them somewhere? The reason I'm asking is, I shot a yearling doe about a week ago, and I picked up the steaks and everything off her yesterday ... and it was all contained in a paper sack! Same price, and I usually have 60 - 70 pounds of meat left after shooting those big ol' Illinois deer. I made up my mind I wouldn't be wasting $60 to have them churn out just that much meat any more... I figured it would be the same for these button bucks you've taken.

Nice job, I got a food saver this year and man does that baby work great. It looks like you proccess your own deer. Food Saver's are worth the money!!

Yea..........we have been doing our own deer for 4 or 5 years probably. I would NEVER pay to have someone butcher a deer for me anymore. We have a nice system and we bought a good grinder (HIGHLY recommended) so now it is just second nature.......when we are butchering it is a GOOD thing.......plus we plug in the radio and tell the same story 40 times and before you know it you're done.

My brother wanted to get a food saver this year........I thought it would be a waste because the Ziploc's cost us about $5/deer and we have never lost a piece of meat to freezer burn as long as I can remember. How much do the bags run you per deer do you think and what are some benefits of the saver??............the Ziploc's are SO easy and work great but maybe I am missing something.

She sure is baby!!!!!!........can't quit now though.


Used to have a friend of the family do them since I was a kid and he quit about 6 years ago.......we bounced around to a couple guys before the price went from $55 to $70 in one year and then we said screw that. I grabbed a video, a good set of knives and we were off and runnin'


Sounds a little light to me..........just going by what you said.

Hey atlas heck of a hole for sure. I use a food saver and I'd say about 10dollars per deer. The benifit is it will last better than 2 years. Find you a buck to shoot now. Good luck

Ain't no way venison will ever sit in my freezer for 2 years My family eats it like locusts..........Oh well, that's a good thing IMO.

I keep asking these little punks where their grandfather is..........but they aren't tellin' [:@]

I think its best to butcher you own meat. We took an 8 point I shot and button buck my dad shot to the butcher about 5 years ago. They gave us about 70 lbs of meat back. This is Ohio deer. 8 point going about 170 dressed. The point is you'll save money and meat if you educate yourself in butchering your own deer.

By the way congrats on yet another deer.
