Interesting dilema

I was talking to landowner of my hunting spot today. He doesn't bowhunt, never has and doesn't even rifle hunt his own land. I got permission to hunt last year for does only. This year he still does not want me to shoot a buck. That's fine with me, for now, since I have doe tags I can fill.

He was driving around his land the other day and saw 3 nice bucks, a 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6. He asked me if I've seen themand I indeed have. He asked if I've had a shot at one yet and I have had shots at 2 of them but did not take them. He then goes on to say that I may have to teach him to shoot a bow so he can go after those bucks next year. So my thinking is, I'll teach him to shoot if he lets me harvest a buck next year. Sounds like a fair trade to me. :D Anyone else have a spot hunt where they are/were only allowed to harvest does? Did you ever get permission to harvest a buck?

No that would really be hard not to take a shot at a shooter buck. Says alot about your chracter right there when you let the bucks walk. Good for you.

RE: Interesting dilema

They aren't what I would consider 'shooters' yet so it didn't bother too much to pass on them.I think all 3 are 2 1/2 yr olds so they need at least another year. Next year I'm hoping he lets me take a crack at a buck, but if not I guess I will have to shoot them with the camera instead.;)
