RE: question about rut and calling

From what I've seen, it depends on the stage of the rut. Last week, when I saw a buck, rattling and grunting would intrigue them. This week, it's done absolutely nothing to them. They are so focused on the does right now I don't think hardly anything gets them off the path they are on. However, I also think that this means you probably aren't going to do any damage by calling either and you might have something good come out of it. As is usual, just don't overdue it.... I'm finding there's no set method of doing any calling or rattling - depends on circumstances and environment that are a bit out of my control. Therefore, I just keep trying and seeing what happens and trying to learn from it.
