Optics Question...
 

I'm looking to buy a new pair of binoculars, and was wondering what you all have and/or prefer. Any suggestions? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money.

I did a lot of personal research and literary research before I bought the Leupold Wind River 10x40's. For the 250.00 I spent, I couldn't find a better optic. There are better but it will cost you. I have had mine for 3 years I believe, they are a great optic, very clear and they don't fog up easily.

I also spent a lot of time comparing binos and went with the Leupold wind river's. I have had mine two years and love them. I compared all brands including in low light and you would have to spend several times more to do any better.

I am pretty happy with my Steiner Preditors. They cost about $250.

Step moms brother is the Vice President for research and marketing for Leopold. Take your pick they are all great, and did I mention free??;)

I've used binoculars for 20 years of deer hunting. Always went with the cheap $20-$30 pair until this year. For an upcoming elk hunt, I ordered a pair of Leupold Wind River "Katmai" in 10x32. They are awesome! I'm not sure what I have missed over the past 20 years but I won't be missing much now. They arewell worth the money. Spent the entire day yesterday in a tree using them to watch a total count of 52 deer. Out of those were 17 bucks and 2 of those were 160-170 class animals. It was great to have a good pair of binoculars to enjoy the sight. I don't think you will go wrong with any of the top notch binoculars out there. I think with optics, you generally get what you pay for.

I went with the Leupold Wind River Olympic 8X42 and I like them a lot. They were 329.00
