Congrats Rob!! :DThat is definitely an interesting deer. You are doing a great job helping the genetics there [8D]

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes and for the kind words on the buck. Oddly enough, these two bucks are not related, I think...it's approx. 4 miles between the spots I've shot these two. It's highly unlikely they are related but it's uncany that I've taken these two back to back years...[8D] Imagine if both finished with equal sides. I know last years buck scored almost 80 inches as is and would have been close to 130 if both sides were equal...LOL

I'm mighty happy with this buck this year as well. The way the whole hunt played out with Kurt by my side in the blind was fantastic. We won't forget it for some time. We all but had a buck in for him tonight, a real decent six and a dandy 8 point...tomorrow 11-12 is his birthday, we're hoping to do it again.

Oh by the way, he missed a gobbler today, nothing but feathers....[&:]:D In his defense, it was with a bow.

Did you get them at about the same place, because it might be genetics.

HAHAHA I just looked at your last post, after I posted that last response! I don't know though, because I have heard of bucks during the rut traveling up to 8 miles.

What we have to remember for those that remember last years post about that buck was it wasn't a 4 by spike. What appears to be a spike is really his brow point on that side with his main beam broken at the base so he would have been an 8 or bigger.

This years buck was a true spike x 4 ...that rules out the genetics.:D It's just odd and a coincidence that I was the lucky one to take these two bucks in back to back years. [&:]
