I imagine he's a fairly nice deer - can't see for myself though.
What a day. Congrats too you. Good thing you had another stand (and your trusty Axe with you for that matter :D). |

Great buck and heck of a way to turn the day around!

Thanks, guys!!!
Just got back from the taxidermist's where we put a tape to him. He came in at 130 5/8. I was running through the pics we took last night and I saw this one; don't know why it didn't jump out at me then, but I kinda like this one as well. In fact, I think it's my favorite. ![]() |

MQ1
Switch to photobucket.com , they're much more reliable than imagestation. That's 2 days in a row your pic isn't showing.:( |
RE: A good ending to a bad beginning... (pic)
Congrats MQ1!!! I can't see it, but he sounds like a dandy. Though I absolutely can't stand a theif, I'd trade a stand any day for a 130" buck :D

Good call on the photobucket deal, bowfanatic... Hard to teach a new dog new tricks, but I think I'm finally fed up with imagestation. Photobucket for me from here on out...

Ken,
I wished we would have got it on video. I had already unloaded him into the back yard and positioned him in front of some shrubbery as a backdrop to take a few pics. I walked inside, and my wife said "Matthew, Daddy's home. What did Daddy bring you?" And he started saying "a buck, a buck..." over and over. (I had called her from my stand a couple minutes after the shot to let her know my day had just got a lot better). We opened the back door, and he could see him from the back porch. He took off running at top speed, yelling "A buck, a buck, a buck!" as loud as he could. He got to him and started jumping up and down, and then dropped down behind his head and spent the next five minutes holding him like you see in the above pic. Priceless. |
RE: A good ending to a bad beginning... (PICS NOW FIXED!!)
Just goes to show you that everything happens for a reason. If all those events had not taken place, you might have never seen that buck. Congrats on a brute!!
