i seen in the ohio journal that a fellow killed a 17 pointer in the eastern part of the state on opening day and it scored in at 229. hope i get lucky!

WOW THAT IS JUST A GREAT DEER .... OHIO KNOWS HOW TO GROW THEM ... SUPER MASS ... YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE NERVES OF STEEL TO BE ABLE TO WATCH THAT STUD LONG ENOUGH TO GET HIM IN BOW RANGE ... I WOULD HAVE TO PUT RUBBER BANDS AROUND MY KNEES TO KEEP THEM FROM SHAKING ...

I don't know how many times I have looked at the picture of this buck...everytime I do I just about walk all over my tongue! [8D]

It almost goes beyond one's imagination....

I don't know what they are feeding those bucks in Ohio but they are putting out some awesome specimens...

...Is there a nuclear plant near where this buck was killed!!???;)

Anyone know what county that was in? I hope it was a fair chase kill, and not one of those stupid fenced hunting areas that are popping up around here.[:'(]

What I question is that he was president of Ohio's big buck club. Do you think he knew somthing that we did not?

If im not mistaken the buck was taken in Athens county, Southeast Ohio. He was the president of BBC. That is his 8th entry into the BBC.I dont think he is anymore. He had been watching that deer for 3 years on a private farm. It had a green score of 220. Ohio is just becoming a breeding ground. The year after Mike Beatty killed the world record a guy killed a buck that ranked in the top 10 a mile away from where Beatty killed his. Heres another photo of a buck just killed.

That guy most have alot of hunting land to let them grow to get that big.If they make it through a season herethey're likely to get splattered on the road.

It was not fenced in. This guy use to hunt on my old landlords property in Athens Ohio, although I never meant him face to face. That and he owns land himself, and I'm assuming he managed it as well. I'm pretty sure he shot it Athens Co. or maybe Vinton Co. on his or someone elses private property.

He owns the farm you see Stan Potts and Matt Morrell hunt in a lot of the Primetime video series... Watch some of those, and they show some footage of the inside of his cabin/lodge; there are some amazing bucks on the wall.

I have lived in Ohio my whole life of 29 years and I have yet to see something like that out there. I would probibly of thought it was an elk or something. Great deer from he buckeye state. I now know why its the buckeye state I dont think it has anything to do with a tree do you?

He was actually an Adirondack buck that I missed and spooked him so bad he ran all the way to Ohio and got dead.

Start chewing pal. North American Whitetail ran the first story on this buck. Immediately after the kill, the hunter contacted the local Warden and had him go along for the recovery. The guy is a taxidermist, and didn't want anyone like you to doubt the lagality of the deer. Hope there are no skidmarks in those drawers. LOL.

that second guy is from around london ohio and killed that buck the end of october. there are 2 or 3 more running around where he hunts. I know his neighbor and have met him. trail cam pics of bigger buck yet to be killed out there. by the way that one green scored 216. look at ODNR web site and look at deer pics and search madison county. it will give you specs.
