Buck number 1 was taken on an evening hunt on the 15th of October. Sparred him up w/ a rattle bag to about 15yds. Although he's a nice buck, wish I would have let him walk. He's just a 2 1/2 yr old that had tons of potential!!

My 2nd buck a nice 4 1/2 yr old 8 that field dressed 214#'s was taken on a morning hunt on Oct. 30th. Had a guy come back and start cutting firewood about 300 yds from my stand, the next thing I knew I heard crashing of brush heading towards me out popped this buck.

Man you guys out there have got it made. I wish we had deer like that around here. You just took 2 deer in 2 weeks, that are as big as any registered in my whole county, ever.

Yeah, I would have probably let the first one walk......NOT!! It'd be a hard call just from seeing that rack. Look like a couple of great bucks. Good job and congrats!!! I'd be happy if I ever saw anything like either of those.

I know I shouldn't be unhappy, and I'm definitely not with the second buck the 8. He was a very mature buck that had a very nice rack, but still not the genetics that other deer in the area may have at 4 1/2 yrs, so he was a great buck to take out of the herd and let some of those mainframe 10's do the breeding this fall. The first buck however was a potential 4 1/2 yr old mega monster w/ that kind of frame at just 2 1/2. I wish I would have had the will power to let him walk. It was one of those situations however when things happened fast, and a matter of seconds I had to decide to shoot or not, and well I shot. Chalk one up for experience I guess. I just can't believe it's prime time and I don't have a buck tag. Never in all my years of hunting have I not been buck hunting during the first couple of weeks of Nov. I know you guys aren't going to shed a tear for me because I do realize they both are very nice deer.
