opening weekend
I went out Saturday with a pocket full of doe tags (I always buy all I am allowed but seldom use them all). By sun up I had 15 turkeys fly down in front of me and while trying to coax them closed to my stand for a shot a doe stepped out about 20 yards out. Within a hour I had her field dressed and on my way home. Sunday evening I decided to give it another try. I went to another stand on the same property and while hooking off my safety belt I noticed a doe heading my way as well as a doe and fawn walking the opposite direction. When the doe went behind some trees I was able to pickup my bow, nock an arrow and make the shot at less than 20 yards. Again I was on my way home to cut up my deer. What away to start the season. I hope this doesn't spoil me for later when the big bucks start moving during the daylight hours.
