a bit miffed

here is the situation. (hypothetical of course) it is archery season. your buddy goes out and sees what he describes as a monster 12. he says he isn't going to hunt it, but defer it to dad since he has never shot a big buck before. muzzleloader opens in nine days. dad goes over and shoots the thing with a 25-06 a full two weeks before the season. buddy has a butcher shop on the side. end of story.

there are so many things I want to say about this it isn't funny. first off, WHY? you haven't shot a big buck because you are lazy, and sit on the same friggin rock year in and year out over a bait pile where it is illegal to use one. you cannot show the pics to anyone because it was taken illegally. even the rack is suspect to anyone. it could be a book buck, and now that is impossible.

I am disappointed to say the least in this person. his son is a good guy, one that I have instilled legal quality ethics in. what a putz.

I wouldn't report him. You will be asking for unwanted trouble. But I would def. let the fat ass know exactly what you think of him.

I would report him too, 2 weeks before the MUZZELOADERseason, with a 25.06, I don't think so. Before that I would go and "talk" with him, and tell him my intentions, and no matter how much he begs and pleads I would still report him.

Be prepared if you report him, for a long time of trouble. This guy doesn't care if he shoots a deer out of season.... sounds like he would probably seek revenge on your but. But if you do drop a dime on him dont let anyone know you did. Just a few words of advice.

Lazy hunters really bother me.. All it does is reflect on how they live their life too and how they go about daily activities.. He's prolly a couch potato.

I'd report him. Or this is how he will hunt all the time. I've worked hard for all my deer. I have seen alot of deer at illegal shooting hours and on private land. I might watch them but, never take them illegal. What kind of story do you tell about that hunt. He is stealing from the legal hunters.
