That is one hell of a buck. I take it is going on the wall. Is it just me or did he not leave enough of the neck for a shoulder mount. Must be starting a new trend with what will be referred to as an ear mount.

I'm with some of the other replies here also. Crappy photo of a beautiful deer. No cape...makes sense to me as he prolly cut it's throat thinking he was "bleeding" it out. I certainly hope this person has some quality photos to properly represent his hunt. I'll tell you one thing, if this was a deer that I have harvested it would end up in all the magazines and leave me bragging all the way to the pro shop.

Nice buck no matter what he does with it. I can see atleast 20 scorable points in that pic. To bad his dad made him stick his nose in the corner for cutting the cape to short.

Nice rack, There might be enough tucked under for a shoulder mountor it's a cape (neck) mount. Oh...those are just boots in the corner, nobody in them.

You know what ? I can't believe this guy didn't cape this brute for mounting ,that's just a absolute shame .He's a dandy that should be displayed on your wall .I know there's other way's of mounting ,but he'd look great in a full mount.

Here's a hind view. Just to let you all know, I don't know this guy from Adam but does anybody suspect foul play? To me, this guy was either very, very foolish or was trying to hide something. Some frieds of mine and I were wondering about what would happen if a coyote hunter at night with a spot light could be tempted with a rifle and then short cape it to hide the evidence. Purely conjecture but makes you wonder.

I hope I'm wrong, but my first impression is "poached". Most guys would be IN the picture with a rack like that, on top of what everyone else mentioned...sure was a beautiful creature though...hope someone earned him!

One of the most humorous threads I've read in a while. I'm not sure which part I laughed harder at...the original Blair Witch reference....or the explanation that really.....it was just a pair of boots...not a hunter/person! Ba-hahahaha

The butcher job done on that cape was no laughing matter though. Amazing how that jumps right out at you as you're going ga-ga over that non-typ rack!

Im with stoneman , very fishy . Anyone that I know that shot a deer like that would want to be in the picture with the deer and would have corectly caped it for a shoulder mount . Maybe not poaced but roadkill , or found dead and head cut and taged , my wild guess .
