Buck Pics

I shot this six pointer last weekend, I hit him in the back Knee and had to track him a LONG way, with a little help from my dog and some prayer we found him:D Not the biggest rack but weight 172 lbs field dressed and had a huge neck. I am pretty happy with him hunting on public land.

That ol' boy looks like he's ruttin'!

Small rack, big buck - bad genes?

RE: Buck Pics

I didn't know the 'knee' was part of the vitals. How did the knee shot end up being fatal? Did you get a second chance to stick another arrow in him?

Not bad for public land. Nice deer.

RE: Buck Pics

ya, there isnt very good genes in the area i shot him, It is a huge stretch of public land and everyone shoots ne buck that moves, my theory is that the tiny spiked get mistaken for does and those are the only ones that survive. Also there it is woodland and swampland no farms or nething so not too much nutrition

i had to finish him off with a knife, we tracked him for a long time and when we found him he was weak from blood loss.

He's a chunky looking buck for the size of his rack. I would have taken him too!
I can't believe you found him after hitting him in the knee. Glad you were persistent, but you might want to keep practicing. ;)

I can't seem to hit one in the vitals, next time i'm going to aim for the knee. Thanks for the advice j/j. Great deer, any deer w/ a bow is a trophy.
